Kraft Foods Partners with the Metro Group to Pilot RFID in Practice

Kraft Foods of Europe and Metro Group partner to evaluate RFID to identify stock locations of its products. The SAP and Intermec RFID solution is tested on Kraft products in production, both internally and externally with customers at Metro Group’s Future Stores. The objective is to see a fully integrated RFID supply chain, bringing benefits in reducing manual control efforts and manual input of messages into systems.
The biggest benefit the partners hope to gain from the RFID pilot is increased visibility across an increasingly distributed supply chain network so all business partnerscan have access to a specific product information at any point in the supply chain.
