Yard Operations
Intermec's RFID and RTLS product offerings provide carriers with yard management solutions such as access, in/out control, equipment pool and yard location. This allows companies the ability to maximize asset utilization for operational planning, and minimizes time consuming yard checks, equipment searches and lost equipment with time and date verification for management reporting.
Maintenance and repair can be automated by making instructions and information immediately available to technicians. Intermec's rugged batch and wireless handheld and mounted computers and industrial wireless LANs deliver the day's schedule as well as maintenance histories, maintenance or repair instructions, and detailed device information. The handheld computer's built-in scanners are used to verify that the correct equipment is being worked on and ensures that the correct parts are used and billed out of inventory to the correct asset. And when the tasks are completed, a final scan of the bar-code label records the completed work and updates the master maintenance records. Finally, Intermec portable printers label the equipment, documenting the work.
